JES J. Edward Seitz – Art in the Galerie Kunsthaus Weinstock.
J. Edward Seitz. Artist pseudonym “JES” impresses with his multi-layered and highly sensitively composed mixture of diverse materials and techniques in combination with solid painterly craftsmanship. The results are expressive works of modern POP art, extremely rich in contrast, characteristic, with many facets and finesse. Painted texts give the viewer thought-provoking messages, statements and emotions.
The choice of motifs, mostly celebrities and public figures, is always inspired by the current zeitgeist. Icons of the 60s, 70s, 80s, film and music, sometimes playfully combined with well-known cartoons. Commissioned work, including for the children of Michael Jackson - Prince and Paris, or trade fairs in Dubai, reflect his international expertise.
After completing his business studies, JES worked successfully as a jewelry designer. His designs and pieces of jewelry are functional and cool, but also playful and even eccentric, and offer a successful blend of the customer's wishes and personality and his own artistic ideas and concepts. Perfectly crafted, unique pieces are created. Commissioned works have also been produced for well-known personalities such as Sarah Connor.
Inspired and inspired by artists such as Charlie Anderson, Roy Lichtenstein and Andy Warhol, JES has developed his own highly distinctive visual language using collages of old posters, lettering and international press. The collages serve as a substructure and supplement to his acrylic painting, which he uses just as skillfully and unmistakably as serigraphy, airbrush and graffiti. Shellac, boat varnish and sometimes colored resin are also used, either as an intermediate layer or as a finish, giving the pictures their own special expression and captivating the viewer. Large-format pop art at its best…
The artist's home base is the Art-Loft Wiesbaden, where he lives, works and exhibits.
