“I paint, therefore I am” Around 2010, I, a trained chemical engineer, came across a paintbrush that has not left me since. My works are mostly figurative or semi-abstract, often large-format, colorful, in acrylic or oil. I like to call my style IRREalism - the combination of IRRE and realism. In addition to the works that develop spontaneously from paint and brush, I deal with current socio-political issues and have been interested in our environment and what we do with it for many years. My heart beats especially for our exploited (and soon to be extinct) animal fellow creatures. By 'humanizing' them in my anthropomorphic works, I want to create closeness and also hold up a mirror to our own abysses from time to time.
Despite all of this, humor must not be neglected (see IRREalism), because without humor everything is nothing!
After self-taught beginnings, I studied painting and art history at the European Art Academy in Trier and Mainz. I now work as a freelance artist and regularly exhibit my paintings. I have been living and working in Rheinhessen with my husband and two dogs for several years.
